The Shack is one of Sydney's live music venue gems. It recently celebrated 50 years since its inception. The Shack provides an entertaining and diverse range of both modern day and traditional quality acoustic music in a comfortable candle-lit atmosphere on the first Saturday of each month.
Technology is redefining the music experience but nothing can replace a live performance from dedicated artists. Each month audiences can be delighted by the variety of acoustic acts it presents. Musicians love to play at The Shack and it is difficult to accommodate the number of those who want to play.
The Shack is at The Music Lounge.
Upstairs from Mimmo's Pizza, 642 Pittwater Rd, Brookvale.

Presenting our guests for November
Daddy Longlegs and the Swamp Donkeys - Forget toe tapping. The slamming 'swamp blues' from Daddy Longlegs & The Swamp Donkeys will make you unconsciously stomp your feet through the floor. Led by the magnetic and unpredictable Aaron 'Daddy Longlegs' Houston, the 4-piece have hypnotised audiences around the country with residencies and festival appearances at Northern Beaches Music Festival, Kosciuszko Chalet Hotel, Manly Food & Wine Festival and Love Culburra Beach Festival to name a few. When these musical creatures step together, mixing delta blues, roots, rock and a whole lot of improv brilliance, it's an entertaining musical experience without a dull moment.
Beautiful Chaos - Beautiful Chaos formed around the song writing partnership of Nick Twose and Debbie Tennant and were joined later by bass player Nick Watkin. All three have a passion for creating songs that draw from many genres across the decades from soul and funk to rock and blues but always retaining a spontaneously, earthy and romantic feel. They describe themselves as ‘poetry of the everyday’ with swirling vocal melodies, rich guitar figures and muscular rhythms.
Mark Davidson - is a singer-songwriter from Brisbane. He has been performing around Brisbane for many years including at "Red Hill Folk", "The Bug" and "Folk Redlands" both solo and in a variety of line-ups. He has also played numerous festivals around Queensland and interstate. His co-writers include Paul Sherman, actor and playwrite, Julie McGonigal, a fine musician and composer, Christine Euston, also a superb player and songwriter, Stephen Crass, a wordsmith and Ewan MacKenzie, a prolific songwriter and virtuoso guitarist.
